The initial treatment I received from the Paramedics at home was excelant, unfortunately I had to go into DRI.
The A&E reception was used (on this occasion) as a drop in centre for drug addicts, drunks, prostitutes and worried parents of small babies.
There did not seem to be any supervision or security. Whilst waiting for methadone one party sent out for pitzas and used A&E as their dining room, the drunk was throwing up on the floor, his stomache contents were left on the floor for far too long, small children were using A&E as an unsupervised playground
A&E should be for just that and not to sort out all of societies problems.
From leaving home to getting back home took 6 hours, the time spent in treatment was about 15 minutes, work that the paramedics could easily have done if allowed. The A&E department at DRI needs an urgent sort out regarding acitve supervision and security.
When I first came into hospital I was admitted to m2- I had great care on this ward- Thank you Gemma, I was really scared when I came in but you were great. On the delivery suite I also had great care- Holly & Sue were excellent. Holly did a fab job delivering my daughter.
once I was moved to M1 however I feel my treatment was not as I had hoped.
Staff were very good during birth and after, gives information and advice. Extremely happy with the treatment I was given.
The staff was all friendly & nice, they made me feel at ease throughout my stay.

thank you so much for looking after me and my little bundle of joy
